This is a step-by-step instructional class.
 
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
A fun class where students get to create a one-of-a-kind Anthropomorphic Fox Doll in a folklore style.
 
The class is based on sculpting an anthropomorphic animal head, hands, and boots with polymer clay. Using textiles as well as embellishing the garments with hand embroidery and beads. We will be working with wool to apply it to clay head and hands to imitate animal fur. We are making a standing figure (12 inches) so we will cover the armature for posing your doll on a base. 
 
COVERED IN CLASS:
 
Making eyes with animal glass cabochons as well as clear glass cabochons and polymer clay.
Creating one-of-a-kind armature with wire.
Sculpting with polymer clay: 
We will create a one-of-a-kind armature, sculpt the head, hands, and fancy boots in the Old Russian style.
Painting with acrylics.
Applying wool fur to the clay surface to achieve a “soft fur” look.
Working with fabrics to sew the body and costume.
Embroidery techniques (to be used to embellish the garment for the Fox. We will cover the stitches used for embroidery.) - LOTS OF FUN TECHNIQUES for a beginner as well as for an advanced creator. Super cute project.
