New and by far the best creation of ElenaOriginals

This August I have been extremely lucky to have given birth to an amazing new person, my son Rhys. He is the best Elena Originals could have ever created! Dear friends, share my excitement!

Trolls, Elves, Pans and Forest Creatures
Posted by elenaOriginals
Here’s some of the WIP (work in progress) photos of the fun forest and cave creatures that I decided to make. Trolls, elves, pans, etc. Anyone who fits that description. I think I am really enjoying putting the teeth on these as well. Making teeth takes a bit different approach, but it is totally worth it and the expression you end up with is priceless.
I have used different types and mixes of clay to create these heads (and limbs). Sometimes adding a bit of color into your clay mix from the start gives you a different feel for the character’s “skin” appearance, even before you paint it. Also you might notice some clay looks a bit more transulscent while the other is a lot more opaque. I will try to update the blog with the upcoming photos of their painted versions as well as their assemly and costume.

New Year New Inspiration
Posted by elenaOriginals
I can’t believe how quickly the new year came! Although I have had a pretty packed 2010 with lots of activities and events, it still took my breath away. I still remember warm August camping and fishing with my husband, next thing you know it’s Christmas and New 2011! Well… I have to say that this year I am also planning on trying things I only thought of. For some reason I find myself thinking a lot about painting and working with fabrics, let’s see shall we?
For those of you who are asking about 2011 Doll Sculpting Classes, I am planning on starting the class schedule a bit later this year, February. January took me by surprise with a cold, so I am taking this time to recover and get back on track. Planning, that’s what I am doing this January. So, my friends, keep checking my website for new classes coming up and for new artwork! Meantime, check out some of the winter knitwear I have made in the past month.

Art doll Cathy inspired by a beloved character from Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. One of a Kind, Polymer clay. 12 inches tall.
This past summer I had a chance to work on a commission for a lovely customer from UK. She inspired me to create and re-live this classic 19th century novel over again. Thank you, Linda!

Legend of the Seeker Richard Cypher (Craig Horner) Amulet
Posted by elenaOriginals
I decided to make a beautiful trinket for fans of the Legend of the Seeker tv series, of which I am the biggest fan. How can anyone not like MAGIC, ETERNAL LOVE AND fight against evil story! Here you have it all.
I made the amulet with polymer clay with faux ivorie and hand antiquing. It has the rune carved into it. It belongs to the Seeker, Richard Cypher (beautifully portrayed by Craig Horner). Great piece of memorabilia for the fans of the show!
